Reuse carpet as a weed barrier in the garden

A great way to reuse carpet is to place it in a part of your garden where you would like to kill weeds or make a path.  The water can pass through the carpet but the weeds under the carpet piece will die in a few days and you can move the carpet to a new location if you like  The carpet also makes a less muddy path and can be a nice bed for watermelon, squash or other vegetables to rest on as they mature.
